Endodontic treatment
The term endodontics comes from the Greek words: endo- interior and odont- tooth.
Endodontics aims at eliminating bacteria from the anatomically complex root canal system and sealing the canals to prevent reinfection.
In our Surgery, the root canal treatment always starts with taking x ray images and applying local anaesthetic.
Then the root canal is opened and the pulp is removed. The canal is then cleaned and prepared for filling.
Mechanical and chemical methods are used to disinfect and rinse out microorganisms from the root canals.
Depending on which tooth requires treatment, the number of canals and the state of the tooth, you will require one to three visits to complete the procedure.
